What we are watching – Le Mann 66

Speeding on to our screens this weekend is the 2019 racing epic ‘Le Mans 66’.

Starring Matt Damon and Christian Bale, you’ll discover the unique and fascinating relationship between automotive designer and entrepreneur, Carrol Shelby and ‘Brummie’ racing legend Ken Miles. The team behind Ford taking on Ferrari at the famous French endurance race, Le Mans.

We chat to our own speed racer Will and his love for racing:

“Being a speed thrill seeker (I hack about on Karts in my spare time), I love watching anything related to racing, especially when it’s based on “real” events. Ford v Ferrari is a real cracker and has a little bit of everything. The great storyline, new entrant vs established champion, legendary cars and the inimitable 24 Hours of Le Mans.

My favourite bit of the film is the moment Ferrari realise they’ve been outsmarted by the rookie Ford team, who bend the rules by swapping out their entire brake system during pit stops.”
